Hundreds of positive reviews

Nothing else that I’ve participated in or practiced has been anywhere near as impactful as the AlliesInRecovery curriculum via your podcast, modules, and workshop.

SMART Recovery Facilitator

The tools I’ve learned from your website are empowering and it works. I looked at many sites and investigated many groups, many I found to be based on emotion at best or on fear at worst.

Your kind words, detailed guidance with the website, and ongoing encouragement have been so refreshing.

In the twenty years of struggle and reprieve I’ve experienced I don’t remember ever feeling as supported as I do now.

I have become an unofficial ambassador for CRAFT and I’ve sent many your way. Things are going well now with my loved one – but you have NO IDEA how helpful you have been along the way.

Your response is very validating. I teared up a bit in gratitude. I think that my biggest struggle is with uncertainty about my thoughts and decisions… Allies’ helps so much with this!

I have to be vigilant and tiptoe around … unstable family members for my 54 years, and I am seeing that I don’t actually need to live like that moving forward. It is a huge change.

I offered to collaborate on an internal email article to share Allies in Recovery with my colleagues. I wish I had come across it sooner.

I’ve only known the Al-Anon and Codependency approach before. I’m finding it so helpful to see addiction and recovery in a new way. It is so liberating.

Allies in Recovery is a fantastic program and, for me, is more helpful than Al Anon.

The approach makes sense and has really helped me grow as a person. Using the techniques from the modules has helped me dramatically improve communication with my LO with SUD.

The decades trying to control fix solve etc was exhausting and ineffective. [Allies’] resources are the best there is! I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this program. ❤️

I love this program! I think it should be available to everyone! Thank you for all that you do!

First and only program where I was supported, encouraged, and understood as the mother of an adult son with SUD. I am a different person now and so is my son.

I am simply thankful for this resource. Blessings!

Common Questions

How is the Allies in Recovery Approach Different from Everything Else Out There?

Allies in Recovery uses CRAFT – Community Reinforcement and Family Training, an evidence-based method PROVEN to work. With our specially-adapted eLearning program and live, weekly training and support groups, you’ll learn how to encourage non-use of substances, how to successfully engage your loved one into care and recovery, and to practice self-care.

9 out of 10 Allies in Recovery site users surveyed report greatly improved interactions with their loved one, AND their own greatly reduced stress levels; while 7 out of 10 site users report success getting their loved one to reduce substance use, to enter care and recovery, and to stay in recovery longer. This is simply the MOST successful approach out there.

Allies in Recovery is for parents, partners, grandparents, siblings, and anyone looking for help with the struggle that a loved one’s substance use presents.

What Access Will I Have to Real Coaches and Experts?

You’ll have WEEKLY access to live (online) CRAFT skills, CRAFT education, and CRAFT support groups with our experts, who all attended trainings with Dr. Robert Meyers, one of the founders of the CRAFT approach:

--Kayla Solomon (LICSW), with decades of experience as an addiction counselor and CRAFT practitioner, runs our popular Wednesday evening (Eastern Time) CRAFT support group on Zoom

--Laurie MacDougall runs our weekly CRAFT education and skills groups, as well as our CRAFT training workshops. She has hundreds of hours of successfully teaching families and professionals our approach, and we consider her the most experienced practitioner we know!

--Dominique Simon-Levine, MPH/PhD, is Allies in Recovery’s Director, and has been practicing CRAFT for 20 years. Thousands of families have been served through Dominique’s efforts.

Additionally, a group of peer supporters is in training right now, to help facilitate more local and regional groups!

When you attend our weekly online groups, you’ll get not only our experts but also the community of others who, like you, are struggling with a loved one’s substance use. Our groups are respectful, supportive, and so many of our site users are very knowledgeable and helpful.

We’re confident that an Allies in Recovery Membership gives you the resources and community you need to become the ally you want to be. For the last 20 years, we’ve served more than 8000 families and counting.

And, also, two things are true: change is possible and change takes time. We hope you’ll commit to visiting the site at least twice a week, to watching the eLearning Video Modules, and to trying a live, online group, before you decide whether or not our approach can work for you.

And, rest assured: every membership comes with our Allies in Recovery satisfaction pledge. So if you don’t find the tools and support you need, reach out to support@alliesinrecovery.net and let us know. If you email us within the first 30 days, we will offer you a full refund.
